Twenty four hours on Mackinac Island surrounded by Lake Huron: this is how we did it! It all started with an hour drive to the ferry. We caught the 9:30am ferry. The ferry was fifteen minutes long with an extra 10 minutes because, we were going under the Mackinac bridge. On one side of the bridge was Lake Huron and on the other was Lake Michigan. Once we got on Mackinac there was a lot to take in: shops for clothes, souvenirs and FUDGE! There were no cars allowed on Mackinac so the road was safe to walk around on but it wasn’t really. There were carriages being pulled by horses everywhere and so many bikes!

We dropped off our bags at our hotel, then my mom and I tried a free sample of fudge and oh my fudge, it was good! After that we walked and got smoothies. When we came back we rented bikes. Avery really wanted two tandem bikes and she finally got her way. I was with my mom in the back and Avery was in the front with my dad. My job was to simply peddle and take photos and since I wasn’t the one steering I could go no-handed easily!
About halfway around the island my dad jumped in the water at a beach. It made us want to go too! We finished biking around the island and went back to our hotel to get lunch to-go and changed into our swimsuits. We packed our lunch and got back onto our bikes and headed back to the beach. Swimming was fun and warmer than I expected. After lunch and swimming, we biked back and returned our bikes.

We chilled at our hotel for a little bit. I had some fudge which was really good. My parents and sister got ice cream, then we explored a bit. We got back and I hopped in the extra large hot tub we had at our hotel. After a bit, Avery and my mom joined me. We did a foot massage competition that wasn’t really a competition, it was more like “just massage my feet” kinda thing. After the hot tub we showered and got ready for dinner. We ate at a Caribbean restaurant for dinner and it was good.
We relaxed for a while before bed and I went to bed thinking “wow, Mackinac Island really is magic”.

Fuuuuudge.
😆
How fun! I love that there are no cars allowed!
We were just in Northern Michigan, 10 minutes from the Mackinac Bridge. That would’ve been amazing if we would’ve planned to meet you guys. My family lives there so we were visiting for a week. Miss you!
Oh man! I would have REALLY liked that too! Miss you guys!
Magic!!
