We are a family of four from the Lake Tahoe area. In 2015 we began planning and scheming for a future trip away. A LONG TRIP. A SABBATICAL. A GAP YEAR. A MINI RETIREMENT. Whatever we called it, it was ultimately A BIG DREAM! During the years of planning Kandra was working as an emergency physician, Andrew was running the household and coaching soccer, and Avery & Zoe were going to school and playing hard.

As a family we like to hike, backpack, run trails, climb, ski, play soccer, read and travel. Our best investment yet has been our campervan that we have used to camp our way across the western states over the last six years.

In June 2022 the big dream became our reality and we set out on our most exciting adventure yet. Check out the blog to see how it’s going!
