Family Time!!

During the start of the trip it was important for me to be surrounded by people that were able to make me laugh. Our first few weeks were, and still are, about just getting settled into our new life. We went from living in an extraordinary area in a house to living in a small van that can lead to many moments where we all just need some time apart. We don’t live in just one place now, we live wherever our van and family are.

When we were just starting our trip it felt more like a normal summer than the start of a year long adventure. We were able to see people that we haven’t seen in a very long time and actually have a full on conversation with them! Also, we were able to keep a five year tradition of Gramma Camp alive, with another cousin added into the mix!

Just like all of the Gramma Camps before this one Grandma Janet went above and beyond with all of the activities and plans that she had set up for us cousins. If camp was school Grandma would have more gold stars than the teacher does! Very exciting things had happened this year! We added yet another cousin into our amazing group! Only one more to come. Also Grandma got a new kitten named Poppy! She is such a cute addition to the group! We made a perfect restaurant on the very last day of camp that parents and family were invited to! There were menus and tasty food. As I’m pretty sure many people say “Team work makes the Dream work!”and in this case yes, team work was a key ingredient.

After camp had come to an end we went and spent a few days with my other side of the family! Zoe and I were able to spend the day with my Aunt Cheri. We got lunch at a Thai restaurant and then went to a movie theater to watch the new Top Gun movie! If you haven’t watched it I highly recommend it! One of my favorite things to do when hanging out with my Grandma Z is watching soccer or tennis together! I just love having that time to watch sports that we both like and to be able to chat with her. My aunt and uncle brought down my dog Sage with them so my family and I were able to have some time with her before we had to get on the road again. That is why I really want to make a huge shout out to them for making that possible! Thank you so much! I really loved the time that I got with her! I miss all of you!

We continued our journey that lead to more fun and exciting family time! We hopped into the car with Grandma Janet and worked our way up state! My Great Uncle Johnny was having a retirement party because why not celebrate the fact that he doesn’t have to work anymore?!! It was a stunning party with great activities and food! They had a huge fire going when it got cool enough! There was also a great concrete platform that was built just about a week before the party that served as a great place to play pickle ball and to dance on! When everyone had woken up we went to a beautiful family lake house where we met up with my parents and enjoyed an amazing lunch! My Auntie Angie made her famous wontons which I am still wanting more of because they are that good! Overall, it was just so much fun to be able to hang out with people that I haven’t seen in so long!!
